London Basement Excavation
Abacus CDS engaged to deliver temporary works design for excavation support during the construction of a new four-storey Mikvah facility in the London Borough of Haringey. Supporting JMS Engineers - who led the civil and structural design - our role focused on ensuring safe excavation to form the building’s basement.
We provided a tailored temporary works solution to support the unpropped contiguous piled retaining wall system during the excavation phase. Our design ensured site safety, ground stability, and compatibility with the permanent works strategy.
Working closely with the project team, we developed sequencing guidance and technical design outputs that allowed excavation to proceed efficiently, with minimal risk and full compliance with industry standards.
